has the 9 speed transmission become anymore reliable? I know they had issues in the past with the 200 among others.

Looking at the Pacifica and the previous gen T&C, it makes me think about vehicles which can be modded for wheelchair riders such as myself. I would really love to see a TFL spot that covers wheelchair accessible vehicles which go beyond the scope of just minivans. Yeah, yeah...I can't beat the practicality and ease of use of a minivan, but there's got to be something more stylish and gives off less of a "soccer dad/mom, single parent" vibe.

Odyssey and Sienna still the king in minivan, Chrysler just like blackberry in smartphone, trying to get back but over priced and nobody wants it, in Toronto I saw one so far. I test drive it and nice but I would pay more than Odyssey or Sienna. Reliability ranked bottom, Chrysler better do something about the price. In Toronto, offer 0% lease or finance but still no takers, this is bad marketing and way overpriced!

I looked and researched all 3, the 2017 Sienna XLE has low grade plastics on the interior, is not IIHS Top Pick+ rated, ponderous, louder, 6 year old + design, worse fuel economy. The only advantage of the Sienna over the Pacifica is more softer second row seats because they do not have stow and go. The Odyssey is also swath in low grade plastics, fit and finish is sub-par on a US$45k+ vehicle. Many reviews complain about squeaking and rattling. Its also an antiquated design. The redesign is overdue as well. As afar as nobody wants it, I bought a Limited and have to say, if its as luxurious and high tech as any vehicle out there. It also is such a better choice for a family of 5 over a 3r row CUV or SUV. If there was an Audi, Mercedes or Lexus logo on the vehicle, people would be swooning all over it like white on rice.

Correction, I wouldn't pay more than Odyssey or Sienna!

BTW, the towing capability of 3600 is only when equipped with a towing package that does more than just provide a receiver and wiring. The non equipped Pacifica's have a 1500 towing capability. The kicker, you MUST get the Touring L Plus or Limited to get the towing package as it has to be built at the manufacture. Slapping a receiver and wiring will not give you a 3600 tow rating. Chrysler provides a heavy duty radiator and tranny cooler, but also provides electronic tow sway correction and different suspension setup (Could not confirm the old load leveling feature found on the T&C). This is all from my research and dealer visits as well as trying to build a Touring L (lowest trim with LED tail lights) with a tow package on the Chrysler website.

Also, can someone answer this question, Why does the Pacifica have essentially cardboard like material under the car? I give it a year in wet conditions maybe less if you use a touchless carwash or any car wash with underbody spray, before it falls off. I saw it on my Touring L Plus Pacifica I test drove.

its just a 200 dressed up. i hated it but now it grew on me, and my aunt has 2015 town and country, she said she wouldn't trade hers in for a 40grand van while hers is on 26grand. i like it but dont like it.

It's so nice, those seats look like what a luxury car would have. Honestly the front of the van is probably the best looking front I've ever seen on a mini van

Nice review and nice car. Unfortunately, with our CO2 tax, this car would be very expensive overhere, so Chrysler is no longer sold here.... too bad !!

WHY was Chrysler so STUPID to throw away their legendary "Town & Country" name and replace it with a name that failed them before? In my opinion, the original Pacifica wasn't that great to begin with....and it was worth around $40K too! On that note, I noticed that this van also has "Stow N' Go" seating.....and it basically looks like a refreshed "Town & Country"....so why kill off one of your best sellers? This reminds me of when Ford killed off their Taurus sedan. Let's just say that it didn't end well. Despite bringing the Taurus back just a couple of years later, now as a full-size car...and at the request of former Ford CEO Alan Mulally, it is still being consistently outsold by the midsize Fusion.

if you look at product for the Pacifica on Chrysler's own build a pacifica page, you will or use to see the T&C nameplate. It was literally a last minute change. I think they should have kept the T&C name. IF i buy one, I'll just slap a T&C nameplate on it just because lol.
PIchillin456

Because, like the Taurus, it's name was recognizable but for all of the wrong reasons. The Town & Country has been an uncompetitive junk van for the last 15+ years and the Taurus was the same thing in its class of vehicle for pretty much the same amount of time. Brand/Name recognition is only good when the products being sold are good. And as for the Pacifica name, they sold so poorly that no one even remembers them so bringing the name back won't prevent sales. And it's a little known fact that the original Pacifica was on the same platform as the Town & Country anyway so in my head the names are practically interchangeable.

Finally the Pacifica is officially a Minivan, I remember the old Pacifica, it was more of an SUV despite it being known as an Minivan in the specs

what about the middle row middle seat? how does it get stowed?

the middle seat doesn't stow, it easily is removed and is actually quite tiny. very light and similar to the Odyssey middle seat. you just throw it in your garage

My mom bought this car last month. There is a strap you pull on the side of the seat that collapses it into the floor behind the front seats. Then the floor comes back down over top of it. At first glance, it looks like you completely took them out of the car. It's great!!

I am no fan of Japanese vehicles, however I was just expressing what I felt after going through the interior of different minivans recently. Most of the Nissan products have sub-par build quality, though.

i worked for Nissan and the quest while very sharp looking was no high end quality interior. many flimsy plastic parts.

I test drove a Touring L model yesterday and absolutely loved it. I was surprised how for how big it is how nimble it is on the road as well as how fast the power response is from a dead stop. I'm looking at this vehicle for a people mover and going into the Limited fully loaded Pacifica with the 20inch rims, Tri-Pain sunroom, 20 speaker sound package, power third row, and safety tech package the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Limited will give any other people move in its price range a run for its money.

I think this will sell well for FCA. The styling is good and the features are very well thought out. Nathan didn't mention it in this video, but the Pacifica marks the launch of the next generation Pentastar V6.
